Seeking Teammate: Building an AI Tool for Physical Fabrication & Design
Hello everyone!
I'm entering this hackathon with a project idea that bridges the digital AI world with the physical world of manufacturing and design.
The Project Idea: "AI Fabrication Assistant"
A Chrome extension that uses the built-in AI to help engineers, designers, and fabricators (like us at Metalworks BC, a custom steel fabrication shop) instantly:
Analyze & Summarize Complex Blueprints: Extract key dimensions, materials, and requirements from uploaded design documents directly in the browser.
Generate Project Timelines: Automatically create rough time and cost estimates by analyzing a project's scope from a text description.
Translate Technical Jargon: Help quickly understand client requests or technical specifications by simplifying or explaining complex terms.
Why This Project:
At Metalworks BC https://metalworksbc.com/logan-ut/ , we see how much time is spent manually interpreting designs and specifications. An AI tool that streamlines this within a browser would be a game-changer for precision-based industries, reducing errors and speeding up project kickoffs.
Looking for a Teammate:
I bring knowledge of the fabrication industry and the front-end needs of such a tool. I'm looking for a teammate skilled in:
AI/ML Integration with the Chrome Built-in AI API.
Backend logic for processing and structuring data.
If you're interested in building a practical AI tool for a real-world industry, let's connect! Reply here or message me directly.
Good luck to all participants!
