Can I not develop if my hardware doesn't meet the specifications?

I found that you need atleast >4GB VRAM to work with the built in API. My hardware does not meet the criteria, so is there any workaround for this?

  With recent CPU support (https://developer.chrome.com/blog/gemini-nano-cpu-support), the current static requirements are at minimum:
  - 16 GB of RAM
  - 4 CPU cores
